Seeking a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for a contract role at an elementary school in Columbus, OH. This position provides instruction and support to 5th grade students with hearing impairments. The role begins ASAP and extends through May 22, 2026, operating part-time onsite with approximately 80 minutes of contact time monthly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to accommodate student needs
- Monitor and assess students' academic progress and communication skills
- Provide individualized support plans and adapt materials to enhance learning
- Maintain effective communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio Educator license with a Hearing Impaired endorsement is required
- Experience working with elementary-aged students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong knowledge of Deaf education methodologies and assistive technologies
- Ability to work effectively in a part-time, contract role onsite
