Brown & Brown is seeking a Health Actuarial Analyst to join our growing team in San Diego, CA!
The Health Actuarial Analyst will manage financial analyses for actuarial projects, assist in strategy development for various benefit programs, while ensuring compliance with regulations and corporate policies. Additionally, they will research industry trends, provide creative solutions for clients.
How You Will Contribute:
Assist in basic actuarial/quantitative analysis projects in order to assist in assessing and calculating costs, rates, risks and trends associated with underwriting health and welfare insurance, brokering contracts, or projecting health care related costs
Gather, organize, and check customer or vendor data for accuracy, validity, and reasonableness, and assist in identifying any discrepancies
Assist in performing basic analysis and cost projections by using or modifying existing products, tools, and pricing models in Excel and other software
Assist in preparation of reports for data trend analyses in order to summarize findings and recommend a strategy, solution, or plan design to customers
Research industry, regulatory, and legislative trends for calculating risk, liability, and cost for customer or government reports
Add value by implementing creative solutions for our customers
Foster and seek relationships with teammates across all levels of Piper Jordan and Brown & Brown
Ensure compliance with government agencies and corporate policies and procedures
Attend training sessions, courses, etc. to maintain up-to-date skills
Always conduct the highest level of confidentiality
Other duties as needed
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or Statistics, required
Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
At least two actuarial exams passed
Exemplary ability to compile, analyze, and interpret financial information and data to facilitate decision-making.
Superior communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Products (PPT, Excel) (Access & VBA are a plus)
Knowledge of Python/R is a plus
Team player mentality

Pay Range
$65,000 - $110,000 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
