Our client is a dedicated emergency veterinary hospital that is currently seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join its experienced and collaborative team. The hospital provides urgent and critical care services for cats and dogs, offering a fast-paced and rewarding clinical environment. Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates overnight emergency services from 6:00 pm to 8:00 am on weekdays, with 24-hour coverage on weekends. The role offers flexibility in scheduling, and the team is open to discussing shift preferences to suit individual needs. This structure allows clinicians to focus exclusively on emergency medicine while maintaining balance through adaptable scheduling options.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Emergency Veterinarian, you will work within a fast-paced, collaborative environment, triaging, stabilizing, and treating a wide range of emergency and critical care cases. You will manage an average daily patient volume of 15-20 walk-in cases, providing timely medical decision-making and compassionate client communication. The role involves overseeing emergency diagnostics, performing soft tissue surgical procedures as needed, and working closely with a highly trained technical team to deliver excellent patient outcomes. This position is suited to an experienced emergency clinician who is confident managing complex cases and enjoys practicing high-quality medicine in an urgent care setting.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities to support emergency and critical care medicine. Equipment includes in-house laboratory diagnostics, IDEXX point-of-care blood analyzers, Butterfly and traditional ultrasound systems, digital radiography, and soft tissue surgical facilities. Due to the frequency of snakebite cases, the hospital carries antivenom on-site and utilises monoclonal antibody therapy for the treatment of parvovirus. These resources allow clinicians to provide timely, effective care in high-pressure situations.

Team
You will join a team of four experienced DVMs, supported by a well-trained and dedicated support staff. The hospital maintains a strong technician-to-doctor ratio, with two support staff per DVM during weekdays and four per DVM on weekends, ensuring excellent hands-on assistance and efficient workflows. The team culture is collaborative, teaching-focused, friendly, and low drama, creating an environment where clinicians feel supported, respected, and able to focus on delivering outstanding emergency care.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
