Therapeutic Fitness Coordinator

Range: $20 to $24 per hour

Are you an experienced exercise/fitness professional who enjoys working with a variety of clients and wants to make a positive difference in peoples lives? In the role of Fitness Coordinator, you will be responsible for the development and oversight of fitness programs for the clients/individuals served and work as a member of the treatment team to meet the needs of each client.

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the fitness programs for the clients
    • Maintain records and documentation as required by Corporate, state, or funding agencys policies and regulations
    • Comfortable running a Yoga program as well
  • Develop and provide physical education and fitness plans that meet the needs of each client according to the individualized treatment plan
    • Participate in the review of each clients treatment plan
    • Evaluate appropriateness and effectiveness of plan for the client
  • Monitor participants progress with the fitness programs and update the programs as needed
    • Document each clients participation, pertinent changes, and progress
    • Provide ongoing assessment of each clients physical status
  • Operate, and instruct others in the proper operation of, fitness equipment such as weight machines, exercise bicycles, benches, hand weights, and fitness assessment devices
    • Maintain the fitness equipment to ensure safe and appropriate use by the clients and staff
  • Organize and oversee fitness or wellness events or programs, such as presentations or organized runs or walks
    • Develop monthly calendar of events and programs
  • May develop and implement additional instructional or training programs for clients and staff members, such as CPR and First Aid classes

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelors in Exercise Science preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience
  • A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent proficiency in the areas of responsibility may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements
  • Certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, or similar certification
  • A reliable, responsible attitude and a compassionate approach
  • A commitment to quality in everything you do
  • Exceptional communication skills with an ability to establish trust and rapport quickly
