MANTECH seeks a highly experienced and mission-focused PKI Systems Engineer to support a vital program in the Hanover, MD area. This is a Hybrid position with 1 day in the office.

This role encompasses PKI certificate policy analysis, to include assessments of components, certification practices, certificate profiles, and oversight of PKI systems engineering to include architecture and requirements development through design review, testing oversight, integration analysis, and operational performance. You will play a pivotal role in shaping federal government PKI standards and practices.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts; responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
  • Guide users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies, and provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
  • Analyze user and system requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications; leads design and development activities.
  • Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
  • Develop technical documentation, system architecture and system design documentation and incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations.
  • Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 14+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting technical programs of similar scope, type and complexity.
  • Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Science, or Engineering Management. An additional 5 years of relevant experience might substitute for a degree.
  • 5+ years of PKI experience (e.g., writing and interpreting PKI X.509 Certificate Policy requirements; comparing requirements of multiple PKls to determine; interoperability risks; writing PKI Certification Practice Statements and analyzing those documents for compliance with PKI X.509 Certificate Policy requirements; performing PKI compliance audits and security assessments of PKI components (e.g., CAs, hardware cryptographic modules, smartcards, tokens, applets, card management systems, trusted roles))

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of PKI operational experience including coordination with interagency PKI working groups and bodies
  • 5+ years of PKI Policy, Practice, and Profiles documentation review and coordination
  • 5+ years of PKI experience with compliance audit preparation, execution, or trends interpretation and reporting to PKI oversight bodies
  • 3+ years of experience with DoD PKI, Federal PKI, and/or NSS PKI governance and approval processes

Security Clearance:

  • Must have an active TS/SCI

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for approximately 50% of the time.
  • Frequent use of office equipment including computers and productivity tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required for collaboration, documentation, and presentation.
