The Quality Control Technician will ensure that our ready-mix concrete meets company and industry standards by performing field and laboratory testing, troubleshooting concrete performance issues, and providing technical support to production and operations teams.!

What You Will Be Doing

  • Conduct quality control tests on ready-mix concrete, including slump, air content, unit
    weight, and strength testing
  • Sample and test raw materials such as aggregates, cement, and admixtures for
    compliance with specifications
  • Monitor concrete batch processes to ensure consistency and adherence to mix designs
  • Document and analyze test results, identifying and addressing any inconsistencies or
    deviations
  • Work closely with plant operators, drivers, and contractors to resolve quality concerns
    and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Assist in developing and modifying concrete mix designs to meet project specifications
  • Ensure compliance with ASTM, ACI, DOT, and company-specific quality standards
  • Maintain calibration and proper operation of testing equipment
  • Conduct job site inspections to evaluate concrete performance and troubleshoot issues
    as needed
  • Support the implementation of quality control and safety policies and procedures.
  • Enter test data into data management system
  • Follow proper company policies, procedures, laws, and regulations including OSHA
    safety and quality standards

What We Would Like from You

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelors degree in construction
    materials, engineering, or a related field is a plus
  • 1+ years of experience in ready-mix concrete quality control, construction materials
    testing, or a related field preferred
  • ACI (American Concrete Institute) or TxDOT certifications preferred or willingness to
    obtain
  • Strong understanding of concrete properties, mix designs, and testing procedures
  • Ability to interpret technical data and generate reports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to pass background check, drug & alcohol testing and a physical assessment
  • Required PPE includes safety shoes above ankles, safety vests, safety glasses, ear
    plugs and hard hats. Additional PPE is required if performing special jobs.
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
