Seeking Sterilization Technician / Hygiene Assistant

Are you interested in dental sterilization and infection control, but also enjoy some patient interaction throughout the day? If so, this may be a great opportunity for you. We are seeking a part-time Sterilization Technician to support our clinical team by managing dental and surgical instruments while strictly adhering to OSHA and infection control guidelines.

In this role, you will be responsible for instrument processing and operatory turnover, while also having the opportunity to assist with light clinical and hygiene-related duties. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being an essential part of the clinical workflow and wants to grow within a dental practice.

Our goal is for this role to grow with our practice. Opportunities for increased responsibility and expanded duties are available and will come with increased compensation over time.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Inspecting, cleaning, and sterilizing dental and surgical instruments
• Ensuring instrument cassettes are complete prior to autoclave processing
• Managing dental bur blocks
• Maintaining strict infection control and cross-contamination protocols
• Setting up and breaking down operatories
• Performing daily, weekly, and monthly equipment testing as instructed
• Restocking clinical supplies on a daily and weekly basis
• Assisting with general cleanliness and safety of the office
• Greeting and seating patients as needed
• Taking blood pressure and updating medical histories
• Assisting hygienists with periodontal charting and light chairside hygiene support when needed

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with dental equipment and infection control protocols
• Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and basic dental terminology (tooth numbering is a plus)
• Candidates with infection control experience in other healthcare or surgical settings are encouraged to apply

Schedule:

• Part-time
• Monday and Tuesday to start
• 9-hour shifts

Compensation:

• Pay is commensurate with experience and skill level
• Starting at $18 per hour
