Now Hiring: Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Manager (Diesel Equipment) Landscape, Construction & Forestry Equipment Pay: $65,000 - $80,000 annually (Depending on Experience) Job Type: Full-Time Work Environment: Shop & Field About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Diesel Equipment Mechanic / Manager to oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of a diverse fleet of diesel, landscape, construction, and forestry equipment . This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys problem-solving, takes ownership of their work, and can communicate effectively with management to keep operations running smoothly. You'll work in both shop and field environments , supporting year-round operations with well-maintained equipment and clear expectations. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose, service, and repair heavy diesel equipment, small engines, and trailers Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life Service equipment including (but not limited to): Skid Steers, Excavators, Wheel Loaders Landscape & Diesel Trucks, Trailers Wood Grinders, Topsoil Processing Machines Commercial Lawn Mowers, Chainsaws, Trimmers Snow Plows and Salt Spreaders Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, diesel, and gas-powered systems Conduct routine inspections and maintain detailed service documentation per unit Perform field repairs as needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment Communicate repair needs, timelines, and equipment status with Landscape Managers and Ownership Qualifications & Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience working with heavy diesel, landscape, and forestry equipment Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and power tools Ability to read manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license ( CDL a plus ) Welding and fabrication experience a plus Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in confined spaces What We Offer: Competitive pay based on experience Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays Consistent, year-round work Well-maintained fleet and professional work environment Long-term stability with a respected operation
