Camp Recky Overview

Through sport and recreation, campers gain confidence while developing 21stcentury skills such as initiative, problem solving, and critical thinking. At Camp Recky , campers can be their true camp selves. In a safe and welcoming environment, they build friendships and form positive bonds that last a lifetime.

This position is ideal for students pursuing careers in education, social work, recreation, or the sport industry.

Job Duties

  • Work with children ages 612 years old

  • Implement and support various program activities, including sports and games, aquatics, creative arts, and more

  • Lead a group of 810 campers through daily activities and transitions

  • Collaborate with camp supervisors to develop ideas and address concerns, including behavior issues or bullying

  • Build positive relationships with campers and support their social development

  • Work with fellow counselors to maintain a cohesive and supportive camp environment

  • Eat lunch with campers and help maintain a clean and organized eating area

  • Demonstrate enthusiasm to encourage camper participation

  • Instruct campers on emergency procedures and ensure accountability during drills or emergencies

  • Manage daily signin and signout, ensuring release only to approved individuals

  • Encourage respect for camp equipment, facilities, and personal property

  • Attend weekly allstaff meetings

  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating cleanliness, punctuality, teamwork, sportsmanship, and good manners
