The Customer Quality Engineer serves as the primary liaison with customers on all product quality matters, ensuring customer satisfaction by managing quality issues, leading root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement to meet customer requirements and industry standards, while also developing, documenting, and executing Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Hardware Acceptance Tests (HATs), and other customer-required quality documentation, including coordinating and conducting testing activities with or on behalf of the customer to ensure compliance and successful product validation.

Job Summary:
The Customer Quality Engineer serves as the primary liaison with customers on all product quality matters, ensuring customer satisfaction by managing quality issues, leading root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement to meet customer requirements and industry standards, while also developing, documenting, and executing Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Hardware Acceptance Tests (HATs), and other customer-required quality documentation, including coordinating and conducting testing activities with or on behalf of the customer to ensure compliance and successful product validation.
As a Customer Quality Engineer, You Will:
- Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial equipment, water systems, and facility Develop and maintain technical documentation, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Hardware Acceptance Tests (HATs), and other customer-required quality protocols.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all customer quality-related inquiries and concerns.
- Lead investigations into customer complaints, nonconformances, and warranty issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, and DMAIC, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Prepare and submit customer-required documentation, including 8D reports and quality alerts.
- Monitor, analyze, and report customer satisfaction metrics, including scorecards and audit results.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and improve product performance.
- Support customer audits and visits, ensuring compliance with quality standards and customer expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and enhance overall product quality.
- Maintain accurate records of customer communications, complaints, investigations, and resolutions.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably within a manufacturing or bioprocessing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including FMEA, Control Plans, and inspection reports.
- Experience in customer-facing roles, managing and resolving quality-related issues.
- Proficiency in quality management systems and quality-related data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Certifications such as CQE, Six Sigma, or Lean are preferred.
- Experience working with OEM or Tier 1 bioprocessing customers is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry-specific quality standards, including ISO 9001.
- Ability to travel to customer sites as required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work in a plant environment to conduct testing activities.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field.
