The Opportunity

This is not a traditional accounting role.

Our client is scaling fast across North America, with large, complex, multi-year projects across logistics, airports, mining, cement, and customer support operations. As their project portfolio grows, so does the need for sharp financial leadership at the project level.

They’re expanding their Project Controller team - a group that functions as the financial backbone of every major project.

What You’ll Do

You’ll act as the financial SME and “CFO” for assigned projects, supporting them post-sale from kickoff through completion.

Key responsibilities include:

• Own project financials end-to-end: cost, revenue, margin, cash flow, and forecasting
• Set up and maintain project financial structures and controls
• Track and analyze all project costs (labor, capex, hours, variances, change orders)
• Partner closely with Project Managers to guide financial decisions and protect margins
• Analyze change orders and quantify their financial impact
• Deliver ongoing analysis, recommendations, and risk assessments
• Provide clear reporting and updates to senior leadership on project health
• Support monthly close, forecasting, audits, and financial reviews
• Work heavily in Excel (pivot tables, analysis, tracking tools)
• Operate within SAP ECC (with a future move to S/4HANA)

You’ll initially support the Customer Support business, one of the most visible and profitable areas of the company.
