Associate Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is a well-established, full-service animal hospital in Lakeland, Florida, hiring an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join their growing team. The practice provides general practice and some urgent care services, seeing a mix of wellness, surgical, dental, and urgent care cases while delivering compassionate care to pets of all ages.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Wednesday from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Thursday from 8:00am to 1:00pm, Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm, and Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm, with the practice closed on Sundays. This is a full-time position. There are no after-hours requirement, and the hospital remains open on Saturdays to provide weekend care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will manage a daily caseload averaging 30-40 patients per doctor, providing wellness care, illness and injury diagnostics, urgent care, surgery, and dentistry. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality medical and surgical care, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools, and practicing medicine with a high level of medical autonomy supported by established medical systems and an experienced team. This role is open to experienced veterinarians only.

This hospital has proudly served the Lakeland community for over 25 years and is known for compassionate, dependable pet care. The practice offers a fast-paced, high-touch clinical environment with a case mix that includes wellness, surgery, dentistry, and urgent care. Equipment and technology include digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory capabilities, and a dedicated dental suite. Services provided include wellness exams, vaccinations, sick and injured pet care, dental care, diagnostics and imaging, spay and neuter procedures, parasite prevention, deworming, allergy and dermatology care, pharmacy services, and end-of-life care. The practice culture is collaborative and teaching-focused, supported by strong leadership and a belief that thriving teams build thriving communities.

Team
The team currently includes one DVM supported by a fantastic and highly skilled support staff, with a support staff ratio of approximately three team members per doctor, and sometimes more. The environment is collaborative, fast paced, and strongly supported by experienced technicians, dedicated client service representatives, and engaged leadership.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
