The College of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Medical Center seeks a Veterinary technician or Radiology Technologist. Work involves assisting a veterinarian in technical procedures and activities involving animal health and disease within the area of Diagnostic Imaging. Successful candidate will assist team clinicians and care-giving colleagues with the imaging, examination, and monitoring of all patients within the Diagnostic Imaging unit. Additionally, the successful candidates will oversee and instruct professional veterinary students in preparation of animals and equipment for medical procedures and delivery of care. Duties include but are not limited to the following: organizes, directs, and provides helpful and collegial assistance to professional students, clinicians, residents, coworkers, and technical students; coordinates unit's services with other hospital services; prepares animal patients and equipment for both radiographic and advanced imaging examinations; obtains high quality images of patients; transfers digital images to PACS; performs special procedures; performs nuclear medicine, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, and contrast exams; trains and observes students in technical procedures; assists with clinical research activities; maintains equipment and cleanliness of work area ;serves as a contact for scheduling; coordinates patient exams; enters charges; ensures that needed supplies are stocked; and other duties as assigned. Successful candidate must be a Registered Veterinary Technician or Registered Radiology Technician (ARRT) in the state of Ohio and complete a background check.
Hiring Range: $30.10 - $37.62
Additional Information:Required Qualifications:
Associate's Degree. Registered Veterinary Technician through The Ohio Veterinary Medical Licensing Board. Must pass the Veterinary Technician National Exam. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
Desired Experience:
Previous experience as a licensed registered veterinary technician or licensed registered radiology technician and/or Veterinary Assistant. MRI and/or CT experience.
Physical Requirements:
Standing for long periods of time; pushing/pulling/lifting up to 50 pounds; Exposure to animal dander and/or zoonotic diseases; Exposure to needle sticks hazardous chemicals and/or bio hazardous waste. State of Ohio Registered Veterinary Technician or State of Ohio and ARRT Registered Radiology Technician (Required) at the time of hire.
