Medical Director Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director to lead its long-standing small animal practice. The hospital provides veterinary care to canines and felines and is hiring an experienced veterinarian to guide medical standards, shape practice culture, and continue the legacy of a trusted community hospital.

Working Hours / Rota
The role is open to either full-time or part-time, with flexible options available. The hospital operates Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Medical Directors consistently work four days per week within these hours, with a one-hour lunch break. There are no on-call duties and no holiday work requirements.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will combine clinical leadership with hands-on patient care, providing medical, surgical, and dental services to small animal patients. Clinical responsibilities include preventive care, internal medicine, dentistry, soft tissue and advanced surgical procedures, and holistic therapies such as acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. This role is suited to an experienced veterinarian who is confident in clinical decision-making and passionate about mentoring, collaboration, and maintaining high medical standards.

Practice Details
The hospital is one of the most established practices in the region, serving the East End since 1929 and maintaining a loyal, multi-generational client base. The practice blends traditional veterinary medicine with holistic care and operates in a supportive, community-focused environment. Equipment includes digital radiography, digital dental radiography, in-house laboratory capabilities, and echocardiogram functionality. Services offered include preventive care, diagnostic care, internal medicine, surgical services including TPLO and TTA, dental services, holistic medicine, puppy and kitten care, senior pet care, and an on-site pharmacy.

Team
The team includes three DVMs supported by a strong support staff, including veterinary assistants and CSRs, maintaining a supportive working environment with a 2:1 staff-to-doctor ratio. Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
