ABOUT THE JOB
The EHS Supervisor is responsible for leading, developing/sustaining, and administering a comprehensive safety program to ensure a safe, compliant and incident free workplace. This role provides a day-to-day safety leadership, floor presence, partners with operations and leadership and drives a proactive safety culture across the organization.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead and oversee health and effectiveness of safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, local, state, and federal regulations.
Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices, developing practices and programs to correct or reduce their occurrence.
Investigate and respond to employee complaints to provide high quality internal customer service.
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments, track themes, corrective actions, and preventative actions to closure
Investigate safety incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; determine themes, root causes and implement corrective and preventive measures
Review company accident statistics, themes, and recommend corrections to improve overall employee health and safety.
Review and update safety policies, procedures, JSAs, SOPs, and emergency response plans
Monitor safety metrics and KPIs; prepare reports and present findings in Site Daily Operational Reviews
Coordinate with departments to support injury prevention, return-to-work, and workers' compensation initiatives
Process workers' compensation claims (including doctor appointments, first insurance reports, payment of medical bills, review of medical reports, and contact with doctors, insurers, lawyers, and employee counseling) to ensure responsiveness, accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness.
Act as liaison with EHS Manager during regulatory inspections and audits
Monitor monthly usage and spending of PPE supplies in addition to other job specific duties.
Develop, plan, and conduct training programs to ensure understanding of and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Attend and participate in department safety meetings.
Active member on Safety Excellence Pillar
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3 - 5+ years of progressive safety experience in industrial, food manufacturing, construction, or logistics environment
Proven experience leading or supervising safety teams
Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems
Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis
Professional safety certifications preferred (CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or equivalent)
