Locum Gastroenterology Physician - Columbus, Ohio (IMLC Accepted Willing to License)

We are seeking an experienced Gastroenterology physician for locum tenens coverage at a Level I Trauma Center in Columbus, Ohio. This is a high-acuity hospital-based role requiring advanced GI procedural expertise, including ERCP and EUS. Temporary privileges are available for qualified candidates.

Coverage Dates
  • March 22 (4:00 PM) - March 30 (7:00 AM), 2026

  • April 6 (7:00 AM) - April 13 (7:00 AM), 2026

  • May 3 (4:00 PM) - May 4 (7:00 AM), 2026

  • June 15 (7:00 AM) - June 22 (7:00 AM), 2026

Schedule & Call
  • Day Coverage: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

  • Weekday Call: Night beeper call (Monday-Friday)

  • Weekend Call: 24-hour beeper call

  • Coverage Requirement:

  • Full-time coverage preferred

  • Will consider physicians able to work a minimum of 7 consecutive days per month

Practice Setting
  • Hospital-Based GI Coverage

  • Level I Trauma Center

  • Hospital Size: 434 beds

  • Patient Population: Adult

  • Patients per Day: TBD

  • EMR: Epic

Required Skills & Procedures

Candidates must have recent, well-documented procedural experience, including:

  • ERCP - Required (150 cases in past 2 years)

  • EUS - Required

  • Esophageal, duodenal, or luminal stent placement (20 cases in past 2 years)

  • Diagnostic & therapeutic EGD

  • Colonoscopy with or without polypectomy

  • 100 cases in past 2 years (initial)

  • 150 cases required at reappointment

  • Argon plasma coagulation

  • Esophageal dilation (balloon, bougie, Savary with guidewire)

  • PEG placement

  • Flexible sigmoidoscopy

  • GI motility studies and 24-hour pH monitoring

  • Enteral alimentation

  • Biopsies of esophagus, stomach, small bowel, and colon

  • Foreign body removal

    Candidate Requirements
    • Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Gastroenterology - Required

    • Active OH License - Will license; IMLC preferred

    • DEA - Required

    • ACLS - Required

    • Moderate Sedation Credentialing:

    • Review sedation education packet

    • Post-test score of ?80% required

    • Must maintain current ACLS

  • Minimum Experience: 1 year
