Optometrist

We are seeking a traveling optometrist to join our team to provide services to nursing home patients throughout the state. This is position is ideal for a professional who enjoys being outside of the standard brick-and-mortar practice, enjoys traveling and working in relative autonomy.

ExcelHealth Group:

We provide all management support including facility contracting, relationship management, growth and development, patient enrollment, scheduling, billing, collections, staff recruitment, and IT support.

Our national network of highly-skilled clinicians and support staff offer multidisciplinary ancillary care services including dentistry, optometry, podiatry, and audiology specifically for nursing facility residents.

Area of operation and travel:

• Throughout the state- with a primary focus of the Dallas and West Texas area

Services:

• Traveling to nursing homes throughout the state
• Conducting full eye examinations in designated room or bedside
• Services include, but are not limited to, conducting yearly exams, ordering spectacles, completing regular follow ups and treating and managing eye disorders.

Requirements:

• Possess Medicaid provider number or willingness to obtain number in short order
• Documenting clinical care
• Ability to professionally communicate with patients, colleagues and facility staff members

Compensation:

• Travel expenses covered according to company policy with company-issued credit card. Fuel coverage in lieu of mileage

Schedule:

• Full-time, five (5) days a week
• Schedules are set 30-45 days in advance with ample notice
