Sr. Maintenance Supervisor

ABOUT THE JOB

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the day-to-day maintenance activities of the GSF Liquid Products Division, ensuring all equipment, systems, and facilities operate safely, efficiently and reliably. The Maintenance Supervisor also supports continuous improvement efforts, enforces safety and compliance standards, and ensures maintenance resources are used effectively to support production goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Plan, coordinate and direct the day-to-day activities of maintenance staff in the Liquid Products division to expedite work order processing, production breakdown response, efficient project completion, and implementation of other maintenance policies and procedures and to ensure work is performed in compliance with established guidelines for safety and productivity.

  • Manage the maintenance programs for production machinery, related equipment, and spare parts inventory to ensure maintenance standards are met, to minimize down-time, and to meet production schedule requirements.

  • Plan and coordinate the activities of external contractors on projects related to equipment maintenance, performance improvement and modifications.

  • Design or lay out in-house projects with the project engineer to enhance company productivity and reduce down-time.

  • Monitor the budget to ensure that maintenance costs are within plan.

  • Communicate with maintenance staff and other employees to disseminate maintenance standards and ensure compliance with GSF and regulatory agency standards.

  • Adhere to food safety, quality and legal compliance. In the event of a crisis (i.e. product recall, fire, etc.) delegate responsibilities as outlined in the Crisis Communications and Management Guide.

  • Adhere to safety, health and environmental standards of the facility.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Education & Experience

  • Up to 18 months of post-high school education n engineering or electronics from an accredited vocational, technical or junior college.

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience


Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of Electrical, hydraulic, refrigeration, pneumatic, boiler and other systems.

  • Supervisory concepts and techniques

  • Project Management experience

  • Maintenance in a manufacturing environment

  • PC work processing/spreadsheet software application experience

  • Read diagrams and blueprints

  • Interpret maintenance anomalies or irregularities and identify solutions

  • Communicate and coordinate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with internal customers

  • Read and process written information with a high degree of accuracy


Work Environment & Physical Requirements


  • Climb, crawl, squat, kneel reach or twist

  • Lift, push, pull or carry objects over 25 pounds

  • Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service

  • Third Shift Schedule, subject to operational needs
