Title: Project Manager

Reports to: Director of Project Management

Supervises: None

Status: Exempt

Objective

The Project Manager is responsible for managing assigned project initiatives from inception to closure, following standard Project Management Methodologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Concurrently manages small to mid-size projects through all phases of the project life cycle using project management best practices go ensure projects are completed in a timely, cost-effective, and quality manner.
  • Develops and maintains detailed project plans, status reports, and other related project documentation.
  • Collaborates with Project Management team to identify project risks, develop and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Partners with Sponsor and Project Stakeholders to establish Project Success Criteria and track and report on project successes.
  • Creates project reporting such as project status reports and milestone reports.
  • Clearly communicates the overall project deliverables and status to all project team members, both internal and external.
  • Collaborates with project sponsors and key stakeholders to ensure that project requirements and plan are in alignment with agreed upon project objectives and budget
  • Partners with project sponsor to actively manage and report on project budget
  • Participates in project scoping activities
  • Performs all duties in a manner that is fully compliant with applicable industry regulations as well as KEMBA policy and procedures
  • Develops an understanding of Credit Union history, philosophy, organization, policies, and operational procedures
  • On a self-direct basis, continues to improve individual level of competency through training and certification on established educational programs
  • Relates to others beyond giving and receiving instructions:
  • Communicates with coworkers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes
  • Performs work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading, or speaking with others
  • Responds appropriately to criticism from a supervisor
  • Performs other duties as required by management

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of project management experience, including Technology and Business projects
  • 3 years of Banking or Financial industry experience
  • Undergraduate degree or higher in Business or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated success in driving projects from inception to completion
  • Proven experience concurrently managing multiple projects
  • Demonstrated success working in a matrixed environment
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and direction
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Experience soliciting, and documenting Business Requirements
  • Thorough understanding of standard Project Management Fundamentals and project life cycle
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • High level of competence with MS Office, MS Project, and MS Visio
