Job Description
Performs moderately complex-to-complex accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization's financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. Responsible for the day-to-day management of processes in the general ledger, maintenance of accurate and reconciled accounts, and for accurate financial reporting at a cost center and business unit level. Reconcile complex accounts and checks the accuracy of journal entries to ensure general ledger is in accordance with accounting principles and reporting schedules so that the organization has a full and accurate statement of its financial position. Check and analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and accounting statements so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making financial decisions. These reports may include profit and loss statements, balance sheets, depreciation statements, cash flow, debtor and creditor lists, repayment schedules, regulatory reports and filings. Position is the primary point of focus for financial statements, audit workpapers, reporting, querying, analytical review of operations, and individual business unit contact for Chief Financial Officer, Senior Leadership, and Department Leadership. Provide technical accounting advice to functional or operational areas managers to help them develop revenue and expense budgets, understand financial reports, and manage their financial responsibilities. May serve as a primary contributor to business unit financial, clinical, and operational leadership in consulting on financial decision making regarding cost centers, programs, service lines, business plans, payors, etc. May serves as a subject matter expert (SME) when identified as a resource required for projects and strategic requests; act as a key resource for financial and operational management, product line committees, operational improvement
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting and 4 years of accounting experience. Strong knowledge and experience in GAAP general ledger. Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Excel, Power Point, and Access with considerable understanding of database and reporting tools. Workday financial experience preferred. Must possess analytical and problem solving skills and demonstrate the ability to work independently and take initiative for process improvement. Must demonstrate ability to ensure quality in own work and develop strategies to assure accurate presentations.
