About the Opportunity:

Saratech is seeking a Quality & Reliability Engineer to collaborate with cross-functional and production teams to resolve quality and reliability issues, analyze data, and define corrective and preventive actions that improve processes, reduce scrap, and support existing products in both manufacturing and field environments. This role completes defined technical tasks, prepares documentation and reports, and applies standard engineering practices and tools (including Lean, Six Sigma, and structured continuous-improvement methodologies) to enhance reliability, manufacturability, cost effectiveness, and overall customer value. This is a full-time position or part-time leading to full-time position located at our corporate headquarters in Mission Viejo, CA and/or discussed during interview.

Salary Range:

  • $70,000 - $115,000 annually

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in an engineering or scientific technical discipline, or a Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

  • Entry-level professional position; typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.

  • Fundamental knowledge of engineering principles, concepts, and techniques relevant to the discipline.

  • General familiarity with industry products, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory considerations.

  • Working knowledge of basic engineering design and analysis tools (e.g., CAD software).

  • Ability to learn and utilize specialized engineering databases; programming exposure may be beneficial.

  • Developing familiarity with product specifications, customer standards, and system requirements.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical status and actions taken.

  • Ability to work with general direction regarding assignment scope, determine priorities, and exercise sound judgment in selecting methods and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate within a team environment to help resolve issues impacting production or product quality, including nonconformances, yield concerns, and supplier-related challenges.

  • Review data, participate in structured problem-solving sessions, and assist in defining corrective and preventive actions.

  • Support production teams with technical guidance and help implement improvements that stabilize processes, improve quality, and reduce scrap or rework.

  • Investigate issues affecting existing products in the field or in manufacturing to ensure continued performance as intended.

  • Collect and analyze data, review test results, and collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to identify root causes.

  • Support the definition and implementation of corrective actions and provide clear, engineering-based technical feedback to internal stakeholders.

  • When needed, assist customer-facing teams by supplying accurate technical information grounded in engineering analysis.

  • Complete defined technical tasks, such as modifying product functional specifications, detailed drawings, schematics, data structures, and interpreting test reports.

  • Develop technical reports and documentation in response to information requests.

  • Provide technical input for product engineering reviews and design review activities.

  • Consistently apply established engineering practices, standards, and documentation methods.

  • Contribute to procedures, technical reports, and supporting documentation.

  • Participate in initiatives aimed at improving reliability, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness through basic application of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous-improvement tools.

  • Support standardization, design-for-manufacture, and design-for-reliability activities to extend product life, reduce complexity, and increase delivered value.
