Traveling Heavy Equipment Operator Start ASAP - Weekly Pay Description: We are looking for a dependable and experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our construction crew in Brookings. This position involves operating excavators, dozers, loaders and various other heavy equipment to perform tasks such as grading, site prep, paving, etc. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of excavation techniques, safety protocols, and commercial site-development. Responsibilities: Operate excavators, dozers, loaders, and various other heavy equipment involved with grading and paving services. Load and move materials safely and efficiently. Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance. Work closely with site supervisors and other crew members. Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment. Read and interpret site plans and grade stakes. Assist with other construction tasks as needed. Hours: Monday to Friday: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (also night shift opportunities available) Occasional Saturdays depending on project timelines Overtime available during peak construction periods Pay: $28-$35 per/hour Skills Needed: Proven experience operating excavators, dozers, loaders, and various other equipment in a large-scale construction setting Valid driver's license Strong understanding of safety and procedures Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical ability to work outdoors in various conditions Good communication and problem-solving skills Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
