Nursing Supervisor - Neurosurgery

Pay: $40.86 - $63.33 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

The Nursing Supervisor provides expert clinical and operational leadership within a highly specialized neurosurgical service line. This role is ideal for an experienced nursing leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and is passionate about advancing exceptional patient outcomes through evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and staff development. The Nursing Supervisor partners closely with neurosurgeons, advanced practice providers, and hospital leadership to ensure safe, innovative, and patient-centered care across the continuum of neurosurgical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 clinical and administrative leadership to neurosurgical nursing teams, ensuring delivery of safe, high-quality, and compassionate care for complex neurological and neurosurgical patients.
• Serve as a clinical expert and resource in neurosurgical nursing practice, supporting staff in managing high-acuity cases, advanced technologies, and evolving surgical interventions.
• Lead and support nursing staff through coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, and professional development, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with neurosurgeons, anesthesiology, critical care, rehabilitation, and ancillary services to ensure seamless interdisciplinary care and optimal patient flow.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource utilization to meet patient care needs while maintaining operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Promote evidence-based practice, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety standards, actively participating in process improvement and outcome measurement.
• Respond to and resolve clinical, staffing, and operational issues in real time, using sound judgment and strong decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
• Support implementation of new technologies, clinical protocols, and service line growth initiatives within neurosurgery.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements related to nursing practice and patient care.

Requirements:

• Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant certification as determined at position level.
• Minimum Experience: 3 years of nursing experience.Strongly Preferred: 3 years of clinic supervising experience
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
