Position OverviewThe Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Associate Regional Administrator of Child Protection Services. Subject to management approval, this position will oversee Area Administrators through the region who are responsible for the oversight of Child ProtectionTeam Supervisors involved in the provision of comprehensive child welfare services within the region. The position provides high level consultation to the Regional Administrator in all areas of child protection services. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about children and interested in being a leader in the administration of child welfare services. Essential Function- As Associate Regional Administrator of Child Protection, administers and directs regional child protection investigations
- Serves as full line supervisor to Regional Area Administrators
- Directs and oversees the investigation and service provision for high profile situations
- Serves as liaison to purchase of service agencies and other outside entities
- Represents the Department at internal statewide and divisional meetings relative to the management of regional operations
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
- Requires an MSW or master's degree in a related human services field, in business administration, or a juris doctorate
- Requires four years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with an MSW OR five years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with a master's degree in a related human services field, in business administration, or a juris doctorate
- 5 years of experience in managing or conducting child protection investigations
- 3 years of experience supervising professional staff
- Professional experience in the oversight of a large program with multiple sites
- Professional experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Professional experience conducting planning activities for a social work program on a regional or statewide basis in a management capacity
- Professional experience conducting community outreach as a representative of a public or business organization
- Professional experience coordinating program services in a public or business organization
- Requires ability to pass a background check
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties. Requires appropriate, valid driver's license
- Certain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 apply to this position. As a result, the employee should be aware that if offered non-State employment during state employment or within one year immediately after ending State employment, the employee shall, prior to accepting any such non-State employment offer, notify the Office of the Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor (OEIG) or may be subject to a fine
- This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiring the occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A et seq.) requires certain state officials and employees to file annual Statements of Economic Interest with the Office of the Secretary of State that will be made available for examination and copying by the public. All employees required to file a Statement of Economic Interest are also required to file the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest with the Executive Ethics Commission. (See Executive Order 15-09) Fines and penalties apply to untimely filings
