MANTECH seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented Launch Vehicle Integrator to join our team in the Cape Canaveral, FL area. This full-time, on-site position supports the Space Systems Command (SSC) Assured Access to Space (AATS) National Security Space Launch (NSSL) Launch Vehicle Mission Assurance (LVMA) Teams as part of the System Engineering & Integration II Contract.
You will provide integration support across multiple launch systems, including United Launch Alliance Vulcan and SpaceX Falcon/Falcon Heavy vehicles and their respective launch complexes. You will serve as a launch site expert for the government mission management team, addressing mission-related technical and operational requirements. This role may also include spacecraft integration and supporting new launch providers as they are brought under contract.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conduct comprehensive analysis of concepts, designs, test plans, processes, procedures, and system documentation; evaluate and produce technical products for NSSL launch operations, rehearsals, and anomaly scenarios.
Provide launch mission status updates, develop mission milestone readiness reviews, and support programmatic working groups and mission planning sessions.
Evaluate and assess Launch Service Provider (LSP) activities, problem resolution, and launch campaign planning to ensure mission success.
Develop and maintain program plans, manage console operations, and analyze real-time launch vehicle data for performance and anomaly resolution.
Identify and verify mission-unique requirements and launch vehicle/satellite interface requirements; provide technical assessments and support for payload integration.
Facilitate effective communication across organizations and serve as a technical liaison to the government mission management team.
Support innovation, continuous process improvement, and planning efforts to enhance mission readiness and operational efficiency for the 5th Space Launch Squadron.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline.
12+ years of experience in DoD/launch/range/spacelift integration.
Experience in systems engineering and project management.
Familiarity with Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) facilities, processes, and launch operations.
Flexibility to support missions during non-standard hours/days, including multiple launch attempts.
Preferred Qualifications:
Specialization in communication systems, digital tools, workflow/task automation, systems engineering, program management, or cloud-based solutions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with Platform One tools (e.g., Confluence, MatterMost, Jira).
Strong communication skills with experience briefing leadership and large groups.
Clearance Requirements:
Must have a current/active Secret security clearance and be willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, or communicate with co-workers and management.
Frequently communicates with colleagues, leadership, and customers and must be able to exchange accurate information, including during presentations.
