Job Summary
Job Description
We are seeking an independent, experienced Full Stack Developer to join our software and data science team. This role focuses on building and maintaining the internal toolset that powers our engineering operations, with primary responsibility for Nexus, our Angular-based application platform that launches internal tools and interfaces with TRD and LEGACY MOTOR CLUB databases.
The ideal candidate will work closely with performance and simulation engineers to develop solutions that enhance their ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development & Maintenance
- Own and maintain Nexus, the primary Angular application platform that launches internal tools, interfaces with TRD and LMC databases, and hosts data science analysis tools
- Enhance existing internal applications through bug fixes, performance improvements, and feature additions based on user feedback
- Ensure seamless integration between internal tools, TRD database systems, and LMC data infrastructure
- Optimize application performance and user experience for engineering team workflows
- Implement security best practices and maintain system reliability across all applications
Collaboration & Technical Leadership
- Work directly with performance and simulation engineers to understand tooling needs and translate requirements into technical solutions
- Collaborate with data science team members to create effective interfaces for analysis tools and models
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions with the software team
- Document technical decisions, system architecture, and development processes
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Angular for building complex web applications
- Expert-level Python experience, including web frameworks like Dash and Flask
- Experience with PostgreSQL database design, optimization, and management
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, etc.)
- Proficiency with Docker and containerization for deployment and development environments
- Modern web development expertise including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
Professional Experience
- 5+ years of professional full stack development experience
- Proven ability to work independently and own projects from conception to deployment
- Track record of building and maintaining production web applications
- Experience collaborating with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex technical issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in motorsports, automotive engineering, or high-performance technical environments
- Background working with engineering teams and understanding technical data workflows
- Familiarity with data visualization libraries and frameworks
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
- Understanding of data science workflows and machine learning model deployment
