Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing comprehensive veterinary care and is hiring an Associate Veterinarian. The hospital treats cats and dogs and operates as a large, multi-service practice offering general practice, emergency, and specialty care within a 24-hour setting.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open 24 hours a day. This is a full-time position.
Role Description and Responsibilities
In this role, you will deliver high-quality primary veterinary care across a broad caseload, including routine consultations, preventative healthcare, diagnostics, and medical case management. You will perform soft-tissue surgeries and dental procedures, interpret laboratory results and imaging, and develop clear, effective treatment plans tailored to each patient. The role involves working collaboratively with experienced veterinary nurses and support staff, maintaining accurate clinical records, and providing excellent client communication around diagnoses, treatment options, and ongoing care. The ideal candidate is a qualified veterinarian with strong clinical fundamentals, a client-focused approach, and a commitment to professional development and high standards of patient care. This role is open to both experienced and new graduates.
Practice Details
The hospital is AAHA accredited, Fear-Free certified, and recognized as a Cat Friendly Practice. It is equipped with hands-free radiology and advanced diagnostic tools including CT, digital radiography, endoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, fluoroscopy, and a Class IV therapy laser. The practice has recently expanded to include a brand-new ICU and a state-of-the-art surgery suite with five exam rooms, four fully equipped surgical suites, prep and sterilization areas, and spacious pre- and post-operative spaces. On-site specialists provide support in Cardiology, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Surgery.
Team
The team consists of 40 doctors working within a 24-hour hospital offering general practice, emergency, and specialty services. They are supported by an exceptional support staff that includes licensed and unlicensed technicians, technician assistants, doctors' assistants, and client service representatives, contributing to a collaborative clinical environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
