Shift Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Monitor central plant systems, fire protection equipment, and other critical machinery; maintain accurate logs.
• Oversee and ensure proper functionality of the building automation system.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all designated equipment.
• Track and maintain records for pool equipment operations.
• Respond to and resolve resident, employee, or customer-reported equipment and building issues, including lifeline phones, door monitors, alarms, and nursing call light systems.
• Address emergencies related to plumbing, fire, fire alarms, and emergency generator systems.
• Conduct repairs, including plumbing, minor electrical, and HVAC work, in residences and common areas.
• Order authorized supplies and equipment; maintain tools, materials, and equipment in good working order.
• Keep electronic work order records up to date.
• Conduct monthly inspections of buildings, grounds, and facilities; support inspectors and contractors with testing, inspections, and repairs of equipment, utility/emergency systems, and structural elements.
• Assist with snow removal and walkway salting to ensure safety.
• Provide backup support to Nursing and Security staff for residents needing assistance after falls.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a building as a licensed 1st Class Engineer.
• 1st Class Limited Engineer license through the City of Tulsa.
• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug test, criminal background check, and TB screening.
• Must meet motor vehicle record (MVR) requirements.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, boilers, refrigeration, and HVAC systems.
• Proficiency with alarm monitoring systems, fire panels, and SARA systems.
• Ability to read and interpret prints, sketches, layouts, and specifications.
• Skilled in preparing reports, records, and logs.
• Basic computer skills for electronic work order systems; proficiency with Microsoft Outlook or similar software.
• Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with leadership, staff, residents, and third-party associates
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and planning abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or collaboratively.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, specialized, and high-stress environments.
• Comfortable working in high-noise areas, attics, or other confined spaces with limited ventilation.
• Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching above head and shoulders.
• Occasional crouching, crawling, and climbing ladders or stairs.
• Routine lifting/pushing up to 25 pounds; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Normal hearing and vision, including near/far vision, color discrimination, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Work performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, including shared shop areas.
• Legal work authorization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
