General Practice Medical Director (Medical Director Veterinarian)

Introduction
Our client is a small animal practice seeing cats and dogs. They are currently hiring for a Lead Veterinarian. The hospital offers a full range of GP services and provides an opportunity to lead within a modern, purpose-built facility where both patient care and team well-being are prioritized.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm, with no Sunday hours. The Lead Veterinarian will typically work four weekdays plus rotating Saturdays. The role is offered as full-time.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This is a full-service GP leadership role encompassing internal medicine, wellness care, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery, combined with the additional responsibility of overseeing clinical standards and guiding the medical team. The position is best suited to an experienced doctor who is ready to take on a senior role. As the Lead Veterinarian, you will practice in a hospital designed by veterinarians and equipped with advanced technology to support high-quality medicine and excellent pet parent care. You will play an integral part in maintaining clinical excellence, supporting team development, and ensuring continuity of care that begins with the initial visit and fosters lasting relationships. This opportunity allows you to lead a team focused on creating a trusted, convenient, and supportive veterinary environment.

Practice Details
The hospital is brand new and extremely well-equipped with digital x-ray, dental x-ray, in-house labs, ultrasound, and more. The practice offers a full range of GP veterinary services and sees a varied caseload within a modern and supportive infrastructure designed to help you guide and grow the clinical offering.

Team
The practice currently has 2 DVMs supported by a great team of support staff, providing a strong foundation for collaborative leadership. As Lead Veterinarian, you will help mentor and guide the clinical team while continuing to concentrate on your own clinical responsibilities within a patient-focused environment.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
