About the role
As a Senior Payments Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in delivering an enterprisescale ISO 20022 migration, with a primary focus on SAP IDocbased payment integrations. This role requires strong domain expertise in legacy payment formats, endtoend payment processing, and fieldlevel mapping across multiple integration channels.
In this role, you will
Analyze endtoend payment processing workflows, including H2H and SWIFT channels.
Perform fieldbyfield mapping from SAP IDoc payment messages (e.g., PAYEXT, ACC_DOCUMENT, custom payment IDocs) to ISO 20022 message formats (e.g., pain.001, pacs.008).
Support Hybrid Address and CBPR+ structured/unstructured address compliance.
Translate business requirements into detailed mapping specifications, data dictionaries, and functional documentation.
Collaborate closely with SAP functional/technical teams, integration architects, and payments operations.
Troubleshoot complex IDoc data, mapping discrepancies, and transformation logic across environments.
Support SIT/UAT cycles, test execution, defect resolution, and production readiness activities.
What you must have to be considered
812+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the payments domain.
Handson expertise with SAP IDoc payment formats (PAYEXT, ACC_DOCUMENT, custom IDocs).
Solid understanding of ISO 20022, CBPR+, and Hybrid Address requirements.
Experience with H2H and SWIFT filebased payment integrations.
Ability to work effectively with legacy or custombuilt systems with limited documentation.
Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder alignment skills.
These will help you succeed
Experience developing data dictionaries, canonical models, or mapping accelerators.
Familiarity with SAP addons, middleware/ETL tooling, or messagevalidation tools.
Background supporting payments modernization, regulatory compliance, or multientity transformation programs.
Ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate clearly with both technical and nontechnical partners.

Compensation & Pay Transparency (New York, USA)
Salary Range: $110,000 $130,000 USD annually, based on experience and qualifications. This role is eligible for Cognizants discretionary annual incentive program.
