After School Program Leaders: Alvord Unified

Are you passionate about creating safe, engaging spaces for students to learn, play, and grow?

We’re seeking a Part-Time After School Program Leader to support both elementary and middle school students in AUSD through structured activities, enrichment, and mentorship.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and supervise daily after-school programming for students in grades K–8
• Facilitate enrichment experiences in areas like art, music, STEM, and recreation
• Support students with homework, group projects, and social-emotional learning
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment and uphold behavior expectations
• Collaborate with site staff and program coordinators to ensure smooth operations

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 48 college units OR a passing grade on the district administered ESSA exam
• 1 year of experience working with children or youth in a group setting (preferred)
• Strong leadership, communication, and multitasking skills
• Enthusiasm for youth development and enrichment education
• Must be able to provide negative TB clearance as well as pass a live scan background check through the DOJ.

Schedule:

• Part-time, Monday–Friday
• Elementary Schools: Approx. 2:00–6:00 PM (Tuesdays 12:30–6:00 PM)
• Middle Schools: Approx. 3:00–6:00 PM (Tuesdays 1:00–6:00 PM)
• Occasional evening or weekend shifts available during pre-planned district events

Program Leaders in the Alvord district start at $18.00 per hour.

Specialty coaching positions NOW open!! Sports, Dance and Skateboard instructors wanted for elementary and middle school students. Pay for coaching is $20 per hour. You must have experience in these subjects to be considered a candidate for coaching/specialty positions.
