Field Project Engineer (FPE) – Data Center Power Generation
Location: New Albany, OH
Employment Type: Contract (12+ months, with competitive pay, per diem, and full benefits)
Position Overview:
Take an exciting opportunity to play a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground role in the development of a flagship data center power generation facility. As a Field Project Engineer, you will be embedded onsite, working closely with subcontractors, construction managers, and OEM field teams to turn engineering plans into safe, high-quality, field-executable results. Your work will directly impact schedule, quality, and project success in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily support for construction activities across mechanical, electrical, and balance-of-plant scopes.
	 - Serve as the primary liaison between engineering documentation and field execution.
	 - Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to support constructability and ensure accurate installation.
	 - Track and manage RFIs, field clarifications, and redlines/as-built documentation.
	 - Verify installations align with approved IFC drawings and manufacturer requirements.
	 - Support QA/QC inspections, punch walks, and commissioning activities.
	 - Collaborate with project management to flag field-driven impacts to schedule, cost, or scope.
	 - Maintain precise field records and documentation using Procore or similar construction management platforms.
	 - Promote and enforce rigorous site safety and quality standards.
	
Required Qualifications:
- 3–7 years of experience as a field engineer or project engineer in industrial or power generation environments.
	 - Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and field coordination.
	 - Comfortable working full-time onsite in an active construction setting.
	 - Proficiency with Procore or similar construction/project management platforms.
	
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting power generation, data centers, or other mission-critical infrastructure projects.
	 - Familiarity with commissioning and working with OEM installation teams.
