Job Summary:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and validate vision systems for complex assembly machinery. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly analytical, and brings strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and a genuine drive to continuously learn and grow in advanced manufacturing technologies.

As a Vision System Specialist, You Will:
  • Serve as a key link between cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver solutions for static and dynamic, high-speed Cognex-based vision inspection systems
  • Lead new inspection system design by establishing baseline vision performance and improving capability tied to product quality and tool availability
  • Develop, document, and define vision system platform requirements, including lensing, lighting, pixel resolution, and overall system architecture
  • Design and implement vision applications including 2D and 3D inspection, AI/deep learning, system setup, and calibration
  • Program vision solutions using VB, C++, and C#
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to third-party automation suppliers, internal machine-build teams, and customers
  • Organize and lead cross-functional design reviews, presenting scope, findings, and outcomes
  • Prepare vision system specifications, RFQs, and manage vendor proposals and evaluations
  • Apply hands-on expertise in camera, lens, optics, and lighting selection for image capture and processing
  • Utilize strong analytical, mathematical, and statistical skills to understand and explain vision system algorithms
  • Travel as required to support system development, deployment, and validation
  • Work in environments with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical hazards, and moderate noise levels

Skills/Requirements:
  • 2-5 years of Machine Vision systems experience in automation equipment.
  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock
  • Occasionally exposed to moderate noise levels
  • Regularly use hands for a variety of tasks requiring fine motor skills
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, as well as talk and hear
  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit, with occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, and kneeling
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • Requires good vision and strong hand-eye coordination

Education:
  • BS Degree in mechanical, electrical, computer science or other engineering
  • AIA Basic certification a plus
