Heavy Civil Superintendent

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage daily operations on heavy civil construction projects. The Superintendent is responsible for coordinating all field activities, supervising foremen and crews, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule and in compliance with contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day job site operations for heavy civil projects

• Supervise foremen, operators, laborers, and subcontractors

• Plan and manage work sequencing, manpower, and equipment

• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and owners

• Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and schedules

• Enforce OSHA and company safety policies

• Conduct safety meetings and job hazard analyses

• Monitor productivity, quality control, and job site performance

• Manage material deliveries, equipment logistics, and site access

• Review and submit daily reports, timekeeping, and field documentation

• Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and constructability concerns

• Maintain overall job site cleanliness and organization

Qualifications

• Superintendent experience in heavy civil construction required

• Strong knowledge of earthwork, concrete, and underground utilities

• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules

• Proven leadership and crew management skills

• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work extended hours in outdoor environments

• Reliable transportation to job sites
