Job Description
The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) is a leading group of over 1,800 physicians in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., exclusively caring for Kaiser Permanente patients. We invite applications for a full-time specialist in Emergency Medicine (Nocturnist) at our Gaithersburg Medical Center.
Unlike other U.S. health systems, MAPMG is built and led by physicians who earn competitive salaries, without income based on providing individual services. Our medical group comprises of board-certified physicians across 60+ specialties. MAPMG physicians use a comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) to coordinate care. Our focus is on long-term health, prevention, diagnosing, and treating diseases effectively. MAPMG researchers and staff support innovative ideas, ensuring quality care, educational programming, and advancing best practices through research.
What You Can Expect:
This position is a 0.8 FTE, which is the equivalent of 32 hours per week and is reflected in the salary listed below
Advanced Urgent Care setting
Nocturnist: Needs to work 90%+ overnight shifts
Pay differential
Set schedule in the following repeat pattern: 3 days ON, 2 days OFF, 3 days ON, 6 days OFF (every 4-week period the latter is 5 days OFF)
Schedule allows for two full 3-day weekends off in a 4-week period
10-hour shifts
Observation Units staffed by our hospitalist teams
Collaborative mixed-specialty department, comprised of emergency medicine, family medicine, and hospitalist physicians working together and learning from each other
No Behavioral Health Observation
Non-Traditional Emergency Medicine Opportunities
Minimum Requirements:
MD or DO
Board Certified or Eligible in Emergency Medicine
Currently licensed or able to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia
MAPMG Physicians:
