Automotive Technician

Lerch’s Garage, LLC located in the Halls Crossroads area of Knoxville, is currently accepting applications for an experienced Automotive Technician. A minimum of 2 years medium to high level experience working in an automotive repair shop is required. Hourly pay is dependent upon experience and skill level. Ability to perform larger jobs (engine & transmission swaps) dictates a higher pay level. Must be at least 21 years of age, have a High School diploma or equivalent, and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for 3 years. Job Responsibilities

• Accurately diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems in a variety of vehicle makes, models and types
• Use and understand diagnostic equipment
• Ability to read and understand technical diagrams for vehicles
• Use computer to look up and order parts
• Perform routine maintenance of vehicles
• Log parts used and labor performed on work orders
• Follow designated procedures for disposal of used fluids and parts
• Properly maintain company equipment and tools

Skills/Requirements

• Automotive repair experience working in a shop
• Computer literacy
• Ability to follow instructions and established processes/procedures
• Ability to work independently
• Willingness to improve existing abilities and learn new skills
• Automotive A/C repair a plus
• Mount & balance tires a plus
• Brake lathe operation a plus
• Must have own tools and tool box
