Network Operations Engineer

This position focuses on IP Network Technology within the electrical utility space. The Network Engineer will design, implement, and maintain a secure and reliable network infrastructure to support both IT and OT environments. The role ensures high availability and cybersecurity of critical systems, including SCADA, substations, and enterprise networks, while adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements such as NERC CIP.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and other network-connected devices.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field technicians to facilitate project-driven equipment installs.
  • Work closely with other network engineers on network designs and equipment procurement.
  • Analyze network performance, troubleshoot when necessary, and provide resolutions to complex technical problems.
  • Follow standard ITIL workflow for network engineering projects and adhere to network change control processes and procedures.
  • Adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements such as NERC CIP.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of client networks, components, and facilities to enable more efficient and comprehensive responses to projects and problems.
  • Assist in planning and executing network upgrades and expansions.
  • Prepare technical documentation including procedures and manuals, and provide training and mentoring, as well as work direction, to others on the team.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong understanding of BGP and MPLS technologies.
  • Experience configuring routers and switches as a primary job duty.
  • Proficiency with Cisco and Arista vendor technologies.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNOW, SecureCRT, SolarWinds, and Arista CloudVision.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of New Albany, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $50.00/hr.
