*Participates in the interview process for nursing vacancies and assesses the performance of existing employees. *Identifies educational needs of the staff and communicates needs to the Nurse Practice Educator (NPE) so they can be addressed. * Ensures patient care assignments are consistent with staff competencies, scope of practice and the needs of the patients. *Supports the DON in employing a strong Quality Improvement process for the nursing department. Qualifications: *Must be a graduate of an approved school for practical or vocational nursing. *Must be currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing or pending licensed practical nurse licensure. *Must maintain current BLS/CPR certification (All SNFs and Behavioral Centers; ALFs/ILFs as required by State).
