About the Position: This position teaches HNRS 110: Principles of Research and Inquiry,a foundational course for all first-semester Honors Collegestudents. Honors College faculty also develop and teach additionalproblem-based honors seminars related to their expertise andinterests in a variety of disciplinary areas. We are seeking a passionate educator committed to innovative,inquiry-based teaching to join our vibrant academiccommunity. Responsibilities: Teaching and Instruction: Teaching includes, but is not limited to, virtual,hybrid-model, or face to face participation in: Teaching of class sessions; Grading of assigned classwork; Office hours and/or all required meetings with students; All communication with students (email, phone, etc.); Tracking (and reporting on) student progress; Updating course material from a previously assignedcourse; Updating online materials (and overall learning managementsystem organization); and All other tasks associated with teaching a course not otherwiselisted. Broader Service and Administrative Work for the College and/orUniversity: Serves on the Honors College committees as needed; Participates in annual admissions and community engagementevents, including, but not limited to, Fall Premiere, SpringPreview, annual exhibitions, and semesterly faculty idea exchanges;and Might also represent the College in university-level service orcommittees. Required Qualifications: Terminal degree in a related field; One or more years teaching inquiry or problem-based courses atthe undergraduate level; Knowledge of best teaching practices for general education;and Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Two or more years teaching diverse cohorts of undergraduatesresearch and methods; Two or more years teaching problem- or inquiry-driven topicalcourses at the undergraduate level; Knowledge of best practices in undergraduate research andgeneral education; and Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse,inclusive, and student-centered environment with students ofvarious learning styles, cultures, identities, andlife-experiences.
