About Atria Health:
Atria Health partners with independent Cardiology practices to improve patient care, physician satisfaction, and operational effectiveness by continuous improvement of their existing practices and launching new ventures.
Atria Health will launch an integrated outpatient center in partnership with a well-known independent Cardiology practice in Spring 2026. The facility will feature advanced cardiac PET/CT imaging technology, enabling rapid and accurate identification of patients at risk for life-threatening conditions, such as ischemic heart disease, in a convenient and cost-effective setting, eliminating the need for inpatient catheterization procedures.
Job Summary:
The PET/CT Technologist will be a non-exempt hourly position based in Cookeville, TN.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Perform cardiac PET/CT acquisitions in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during all imaging procedures.
- Follow all Quality Control procedures on all imaging and non-imaging equipment prior to patient use.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals using aseptic techniques and following ALARA guidelines.
- Properly dispose of contaminated and/or radioactive waste.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients, addressing questions and concerns.
- Protect patient privacy rights and maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Escalate emergencies promptly to physicians and/or RSO and assist in urgent interventions.
- Follow all Radiation Safety Guidelines and Procedures.
- Maintain professional certification and participate in continuing education programs.
- Proficient with diagnostic imaging Electronic Medical Record workflows (Touchworks preferred)
Education and Experience:
- Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist or equivalent (ARRT or NMTCB preferred). CT certification is preferred.
- At least 2 years on the job experience with nuclear imaging is required.
- At least 1 year on the job experience with PET/CT imaging procedures and radiopharmaceutical administration preferred.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety standards and patient care protocols.
- ACLS trained (or willingness to complete training).
- Excellent communication skills with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively in emergency situations.
Compensation:
Atria Health will pay a competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience and offers a comprehensive benefits package including a 401K match.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk or patient room.
- Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to stand, reach, twist, and turn, often from a sitting position.
- Mobility required.
- Technically proficient and computer literate.
