Cyber Security Engineer Overview:
This role is responsible for planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and continuously improving security measures to protect organizational data, systems, and networks. The Cyber Security Engineer plays a critical role in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents across enterprise environments. Responsibilities include performing scheduled and ad-hoc vulnerability scans, validating findings, prioritizing remediation efforts, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively. The position works closely with IT and application teams to coordinate remediation activities, verify fixes, and reduce false positives through scan tuning. The engineer also develops vulnerability metrics, dashboards, and executive-level reports to communicate risk posture and remediation progress. This role requires deep experience in vulnerability management, incident response, and security tooling to ensure infrastructure and data remain secure and compliant with established best practices and standards.
Job Duties:
Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security measures to protect systems, networks, and data
Respond to system and network security breaches
Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities
Evaluate security needs and establish best practices and standards
Perform scheduled and ad-hoc vulnerability scans across networks, servers, and endpoints
Analyze scan results, validate findings, and prioritize remediation based on risk
Partner with IT and application teams to coordinate remediation and verify fixes
Tune vulnerability scans to reduce false positives and improve accuracy
Develop vulnerability metrics, dashboards, and executive-level reports
