The Sales Manager, Travel Trade is responsible for growing international Travel Trade revenue for the Banff Jasper Collection through strong account management, strategic partnerships, and new business development. This role manages a defined client portfolio, drives contracted revenue, and acts as a brand ambassador for both BJC and the broader Pursuit Collection. Success requires strong commercial instincts, relationship-building skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a complex tourism environment .
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and grow a portfolio of Travel Trade accounts, driving contracted revenue through account management, negotiation, and new business development
- Represent Banff Jasper Collection and Pursuit Collection to international Travel Trade partners through meetings, tradeshows, sales missions, and familiarization trips
- Negotiate commercial agreements, including pricing, allocation, and terms, in alignment with revenue strategy and company objectives
- Partner closely with internal teams including Revenue, Marketing, Reservations, and Operations to ensure aligned execution and strong guest outcomes
- Monitor partner performance, analyze market trends, and develop action plans to optimize results and achieve sales targets
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary education in Business, Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 2+ years of experience in sales, account management, or business development within the travel or tourism industry, preferably on the supplier side
- Working knowledge of Travel Trade distribution channels including tour operators, wholesalers, and Travel agencies
- Experience managing revenue targets, client portfolios, and commercial negotiations
- Comfort working with data, reporting, and performance metrics to inform sales strategy
- Experience using CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) and core Microsoft Office tools
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills across diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Commercial mindset with the ability to negotiate, prioritize, and drive revenue outcome
- Analytical thinking with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action
- High level of organization and accountability in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Adaptability, resilience, and sound judgment when navigating changing market conditions
