Job Summary:
Assists dentists, set up equipment, prepare patients for treatment, and keep records.Essential Functions:
The following is a summary of the essential functions for this position. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below, and specific job functions may change periodically.
- Personally contribute to a culture that delivers an exceptional patient experience for every patient, every time.
- Delivers clinically excellent dental care through education, quality, and treatment. Assists dentists and hygienists in quality diagnosis through x-rays, verbal communication, and other dental tests as directed.
- Helps ensure efficient and profitable operations by seeking patient referrals, maintaining equipment, utilizing supplies cost-effectively, and posting patient charges accurately.
- Follows CDC and OSHA guidelines for safety and infection control.
- Completes all clinical notes according to practice guidelines before dismissing patients.
- Prepares treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols. Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access, suctioning, and passing instruments.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Promotes a "team first" attitude by demonstrating positive and caring relationships and communication with coworkers.
Basic Education, Training, and Experience Required:
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR Card, X-ray techniques, X-ray certification
- Clerical experience
Preferred
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree
- DANB, OSHA, Coronal polishing
- 1-3 years of experience
- Open dental, digital x-ray, ultrasonic, sterilizer, autoclave, model trimmer
