Job Summary:
As Managing Director of System Operations, this role leads the team responsible for managing power flow safely, reliably, and efficiently across the transmission system and region. Provides strategic and operational leadership for system control operations while ensuring full compliance with NERC standards. Maintains strong relationships with member-owners and upholds responsibilities as a Balancing Authority, Transmission Operator, and Transmission Planner to support reliable electric service.

As a Managing Director, You Will:

• Lead system operations strategy and execution across planning, real-time operations, compliance, and innovation initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with NERC standards and represent the organization in regional and national industry forums.
• Own budgets, capital planning, and performance metrics aligned with enterprise and reliability objectives.
• Translate strategic vision into actionable operational goals and business plans for system control operations.
• Develop leadership capability through mentoring, training, and succession planning for operators, analysts, and managers.
• Provide clear, high-impact briefings to executives and the Board on system risk, reliability, and strategic priorities

Skills/Requirements:

• More than 10 years of leadership experience in electric power system operations with enterprise-level impact.
• At least 7 years of direct people leadership, including hiring, development, coaching, and performance management.
• Deep expertise in SCADA, EMS, contingency analysis, system protection/relaying, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and successfully navigate complex, highly regulated utility environments.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
