Registered Nurse (RN) – Night ShiftCritical Illness / Step-Down | 13-Week Contract
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a night-shift contract in a high-acuity medical setting caring for critically ill and medically complex patients. This role is ideal for nurses with step-down or ICU experience who are comfortable managing advanced airways and complex patient needs.
Location:Central Ohio (facility details shared during screening)
Schedule:Night Shift
12-hour shifts
3 shifts per week
13-week contract – Could be extended
$35–$42 per hour
Competitive hourly rate based on experience
Standard work week structure
No overtime beyond billable maximum
High-acuity medical patients
Typical patient load averages 4:1 , based on acuity
Strong interdisciplinary collaboration
Supportive and responsive leadership team
Active RN license
BLS (required prior to first shift)
ACLS (required prior to first shift)
Minimum 2 years of bedside nursing experience
Experience in step-down, critical care, or high-acuity medical units
Ventilator and tracheostomy experience required
ICU or LTACH background
Experience managing critical drips
Comfort with complex assessments and rapidly changing patient conditions
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission
Develop and implement individualized plans of care
Provide accurate, timely clinical documentation
Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences
Deliver patient and family education throughout the stay
Initiate discharge planning from admission
Communicate patient status changes promptly and effectively
Delegate and supervise ancillary staff appropriately
Maintain a strong focus on patient and staff safety
Contribute positively to unit culture and teamwork
Assume charge responsibilities after orientation (as needed)
Strong emphasis on patient and employee safety
Adherence to safe patient handling, infection prevention, and workplace safety practices
Commitment to professionalism, attendance, and punctuality
