The Engineer, Information Systems Electronic Security Systems (ESS) supports and maintains University Healths enterprise physical and electronic security platforms . This role is responsible for the operation, reliability, and integration of facility-based security technologies , including access control, video surveillance, emergency communications, and safety monitoring systems across a complex healthcare environment. This position focuses on operational technology (OT) and electronic security systems, not cybersecurity or information security.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport enterprise electronic security platforms including Access Control, Video Surveillance (CCTV), Emergency Communications, Infant/Pediatric Protection (RFID), Intrusion Alarm, and Visitor Management systems
Configure and maintain application-level system settings, user permissions, and device integrations
Perform system testing, validation, and deployment of vendor-supported upgrades and patches
Monitor scheduled data exchanges between electronic security systems and enterprise applications
Generate operational reports, audits, and system performance metrics
Coordinate service restoration and troubleshooting with the Help Desk, Network Services, and vendors
Support vendors and contractors during physical system installations, expansions, and upgrades
Participate in IT service management processes related to incident response, problem resolution, and system changes
Provide after-hours and on-call support for electronic security systems operations as required

Education & ExperienceBachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Healthcare Technology, or related field required. Four years of relevant experience, or an Associate degree with one year of related experience, may be substituted for education requirements. Experience supporting large-scale electronic or physical security systems in healthcare or similarly regulated environments preferred.
Work EnvironmentHospital and data center environments with 24/7 on-call rotation supporting facility security systems .
