Summary: The Handyman is responsible for performing a wide range of repair, upkeep, and improvement tasks across the facility. This role ensures that building systems, equipment, interior/exterior areas, and general operations remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate has 35 years of hands-on experience in general maintenance, demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities, and can independently handle diverse repair tasks while maintaining high service and safety standards.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday from 05:00 AM to 05:00 PM, 2 Saturday(s) a month from 06:00 AM to 05:00 PM

Compensation: This hourly, non-exempt position pays from $22 to $25 per hour, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. New hires usually earn between $55,010 and $71,750 annually, or more, depending on experience, overtime hours, and bonuses.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
General Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform minor and major repairs across electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural systems.
- Complete carpentry work including door repairs, framing, shelving, and furniture assembly.
- Handle flooring repairs, drywall patching, painting, plastering, and surface restoration.
- Conduct installations, replacements, and occasional demolitions as needed throughout the facility.
Troubleshooting & Inspections
- Conduct routine facility inspections to identify repair needs and safety concerns.
- Diagnose issues related to equipment, building systems, and facility components.
- Coordinate with contractors when specialized repairs are required.
Plumbing & Electrical Support
- Repair leaks, unclog drains, replace fixtures, and support basic plumbing tasks.
- Replace outlets, switches, lighting components, and resolve minor electrical issues.
Preventative Maintenance
- Perform scheduled equipment checks and complete preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintain door seals, filters, and general building components to prevent system failures.
Facility Upkeep & Cleaning
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, building entrances, outdoor areas, and general facility spaces.
- Support waste management, including trash removal and ensuring proper use of waste containers.
- Assist with basic landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, and outdoor upkeep.
Equipment & Appliance Maintenance
- Inspect, repair, and maintain facility tools, machines, and appliances.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment; forklift experience preferred.
Customer Service & Communication
- Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests.
- Clearly communicate job status, timelines, and repair needs to supervisors and staff.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed.
Additionally, the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 3 years of hands-on maintenance or handyman experience required.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while following safety procedures.
- Computer/tablet literacy is a plus; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Forklift or warehouse experience is desirable.
- Ability to travel when required.
