Field Operations Manager - Nursery Management

Gpac is working with a growing and well-established tree nursery that is seeking a hands-on Field Operations Manager to lead daily field production. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being in the field, working alongside crews, and taking ownership of getting work done safely, efficiently, and correctly.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Work directly in the field, overseeing planting, digging, pruning, loading, irrigation, and general nursery production

• Lead by example—supporting crews on equipment, techniques, and daily priorities

• Coordinate daily and seasonal field schedules based on weather, orders, and labor availability

• Monitor plant quality, growth, and field conditions and address issues in real time

• Ensure equipment, tools, and irrigation systems are operating properly and safely

• Enforce safety practices and maintain a clean, organized work environment

• Partner with ownership/leadership to hit production and delivery goals

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a tree nursery, horticulture, agriculture, or outdoor field operations

• Proven experience leading crews in a physical, outdoor work environment

• Strong working knowledge of tree production, field equipment, and seasonal workflows

• Comfortable working long hours during peak seasons and adjusting to changing conditions

• Practical, roll-up-your-sleeves leadership style with clear communication
