Position: Ocular Oncology Ophthalmologist (Open Rank/Track Faculty) - Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center.
Position OverviewThe Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences seeks a Full time clinical or clinician-scientist in Ocular Oncology. The successful candidate will provide patient care, conduct research, and participate in education at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Department & Division OverviewThe Retina Division within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences is a growing practice with state-of-the-art outpatient surgical centers. Faculty are expected to deliver highest quality care, teaching, and research.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive patient care in ocular oncology, including diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, and follow-up.
- Conduct basic and clinical research related to ocular oncology and related fields, seek external funding, and publish findings.
- Teach medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees through didactic and clinical instruction.
- Participate in departmental, divisional, and college committees; attend local, regional, or national professional organizations.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and patient safety.
- U.S. citizenship required due to VA contractual agreements.
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Ophthalmology by time of appointment; eligibility for Ohio licensure.
- MD or DO with completed residency in Ophthalmology and subspecialty fellowship in Retina.
- Knowledge and proficiency in the medical and surgical management of ocular oncology.
- Demonstrated research portfolio with publications and evidence of basic/clinical applied research.
- Commitment to teaching residents, fellows, and medical students.
- Academic rank and salary commensurate with experience and credentials.
