Job Description


 The Registered Nurse (RN) provides skilled nursing support in a portable podiatry setting under the supervision and direction of a licensed podiatrist. The RN assists in the delivery of podiatric care to residents in long-term care settings, ensuring compliance with state nursing regulations, podiatry protocols, and company policies.

This position is for someone who is open to traveling the state. You will be on the road and have overnight stays 3 to 4 nights a week. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision and direction of the podiatrist to support the assessment, treatment, and follow-up care of patients with podiatric needs.
  • Assist with podiatric procedures by preparing equipment, supplies, and patients for examination and treatment.
  • Provide wound care and dressing changes as directed by the podiatrist.
  • Monitor patient status during and after podiatric procedures, reporting any changes to the podiatrist immediately.
  • Assist with documentation of podiatric care provided in compliance with company policy, state regulations, and HIPAA standards.
  • Support the podiatrist with infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols during mobile clinic operations.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and facility staff on basic foot health, wound care, and follow-up instructions as directed by the podiatrist.
  • Collaborate with facility staff (nursing, social services, administrators) to coordinate patient visits and continuity of care.
  • Adherent to company policies, nursing standards of practice, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas, in good standing.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience (long-term care, wound care, or podiatry experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of infection control, wound care, and chronic disease management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively under podiatrist supervision.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to travel within the state of Texas; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Compliance & Supervision

  • This position functions under the direction and supervision of the podiatrist in accordance with Texas Nursing Practice Act and Board of Nursing regulations.
  • The RN works in close collaboration with a podiatrist, practicing within the scope of nursing while gaining exposure to advanced podiatric and wound care practices.
